Fork Lift Truck Operator Training Course
Who is this course for?

This course is designed for persons with no knowledge of Fork Lift Truck operation whatsoever. It provides the candidate with the essential knowledge necessary for the safe operation of the truck and teaches vehicle sympathy as a vital part of the Job.
Course Aims
On successful completion of this basic novice operator-training course, the course member will be able to:
- Operate the truck model used during the training course, safely and correctly in accordance with the manufacturer's operator procedures manual and in accepted good operating practices.
- Carry out correctly the routine pre-use inspection of the lift truck in accordance with the manufacturer's operator procedures manual.
Course Agenda
The theory aspect of the programme is delivered in accordance with Approved Code of Practice L117 Health & Safety at Work Act and includes:
- The law and your responsibilities
- Truck familiarisation
- Inspection, care and maintenance
- Safety and stability
- Principles of lifting
- Loading and unloading
The practical aspect of the training programme includes:
- Introduction to truck controls & instruments
- Pre-start inspection and battery charging
- Starting, moving and stopping
- Steering and manoeuvring
- Hydraulic system
- Stacking and de-stacking of loads
- Driving practice
- Responsibilities of employers and employees
Certification
Following successful completion, you will be awarded a certificate of accreditation approved by the Road Transport Industry Training Board (RTITB) and issued by Textile Centre of Excellence with your official Fork Lift Truck Driving License.
